
IntroductionRyan Kaufman started his professional career education at Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, where he attended from 2000-2007 with the culmination of his degree: Master of Architecture (MA). During his years at the school, he had the opportunity to work with Kids Club-an after school program for at risk children in the Cabrini Green area in Bucktown. He was also privileged to work with The Larkin Center, Habitat for Humanity, and the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin. His thesis project was a collaborative work with the University, the Chicago Transit Authority, and Developing Communities Project Inc. (a community organization on the south side of Chicago) resulting in the design of a prospective transit center for the Roseland Neighborhood. After graduating in 2005 with his bachelors, Ryan began working at Harris Architects Inc. in Palatine, Illinois. During his tenure, his work has included many speculative office buildings, tenant build-outs and renovations. He currently is active in marketing of the firm and graphics productions and renderings of projects. Some of his recent work includes a medical office building at 901 McClintock in Burr Ridge, proposed office buildings in Rosemont and Schaumburg, all in the Chicago Area. He has recently been involved with an addition to the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee. In December 2008, he passed his test to become a LEED Accredited Professional. Some other interests in which he is involved includes village development and planning. He is an active member of Dundee Neighbors, a grassroots group which formed to bring positive and smart growth to his town. He has also serves on his villages planning and zoning board since November of 2008. |
